In a variety of home settings, OneSky Community Resources provides accommodation and support services in typical neighbourhoods to enable individuals with developmental disabilities to live successful lives in their community.
The program supports individuals to enable them to live, attend work and participate in the life of the community according to their own wishes. The program provides:
- Opportunities for residents to explore and enhance their enjoyment of individual, group, community and cultural activities and connections
- A safe and secure home life with positive environments for sharing, for learning and for personal independence
- Reinforces personal wellness, belonging respect and self determination – individual and group decision making are supported and encouraged
Services may be provided up to 24 hours per day, 7 days per week based on the needs of the house members.
Typical in-home routines and rhythms may include learning about personal health and safety, rest and relaxation, cooking, budgeting, domestic routines, entertainment and celebrations, socializing with friends and family.
Activities in the community may include shopping, banking, personal appointments, developing awareness of their community, recreation, sports, entertainment, education, employment, participating in community events and activities with friends and other community members and groups.
Adults with developmental disabilities who are referred by CLBC are eligible for services.
