The Rise Wins Housing Award

The Canadian Home Builders Association (CHBA) held the 27th annual Okanagan Housing Awards of Excellence at Kelowna’s Delta Grand Hotel on Saturday, January 25, 2020.

The Rise on Nanaimo took the honours for Excellence in Public or Private Partnership. The project came together through a unique partnership between BC Housing, City of Penticton, OneSky Housing Society and Catalyst Community Developments, with VanMar Constructors as the builders.

The Rise on Nanaimo provides 56 units of attainable rental housing in downtown Penticton for middle-income renters. The building offers a variety of suites and shared amenities for single people, families and seniors. The new apartments include studio, one, two and three-bedroom suites, including seven accessible suites. Features of the apartments include in-suite laundry, air-conditioning, balconies, pet-friendly spaces, amenity room, under-building parking and bike storage.
