Lisa has a social media and digital marketing business based in Penticton. Lisa’s career began in hospitality at a young age, eventually transitioning to events and marketing based roles before branching off on her own. She has called the South Okanagan home for the past 12 years, where she and her husband are raising their three daughters. She is an active volunteer in community organizations where her kids are involved. Lisa was drawn to OneSky so she could continue to volunteer in the community but make more of an impact within an organization that isn’t necessarily focused on her own family.
Vice President
Helen is the Program Director for the Facility Engagement Initiative with the Penticton Medical Staff Association at Penticton Regional Hospital. She began her career working with children, youth, and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, later serving as a Behavioural Consultant in Penticton for several years. Helen is deeply committed to giving back to her community and feels fortunate to support the meaningful work of OneSky Community Resources.
Treasurer
Tom is a retired financial accountant from the oil and gas industry in Calgary who feels blessed to now call Penticton his home. He spent many years volunteering for non-profit organizations in Calgary, in particular, the Janus Academy Society. The Janus Academy is a private school for children with Autism. Tom is also the Treasurer for the OneSky Housing Society.
Director
Bhoomika graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Northern British Columbia in 2020 before moving to Penticton. She is a Registered Nurse at Penticton Regional Hospital providing support to clients with mental health and substance use disorders. She brings a warm and empathetic approach to her work, and her commitment to helping others is unwavering. Bhoomika is very excited about her new role as Board Director Mentee with OneSky and is looking forward to learning new skills and giving back to her community.

Christopher has served in leadership roles in community-based health and social care organizations across Canada and as a board member of non-profits and professional regulatory bodies. Christopher now focuses on supporting community benefit organizations and ensuring their strategic, policy, and fiscal goals are achieved while helping teams do their best work together. With a commitment to client-centred care and inter-agency partnerships, Christopher’s path has given him the privilege of working with many communities to ensure access for all while contributing to his passion for developing healthy cultures and ethical, transparent, and accountable organizational functioning.

Gerry is a retired educator and moved to Penticton from Kamloops in 2020. He has worked and volunteered in BC and around the world, as a teacher, counsellor, administrator, coach, mentor, board member and community leader. In Kamloops, Gerry served on the board of the Kamloops Youth Resources Society, the Kamloops Woodworkers’ Guild, the Vinsulla 4H Club and the Kamloops Phoenix Centre. Gerry now volunteers with “Cycling Without Age”, and is a Director with Board Voice, a provincial non-profit advocacy organization.
Director
Shane Mills is the Senior Communications Advisor for the City of Penticton and with more than 30 years of experience in journalism and government, he understands the importance of building a community that reflects local needs. His time with the provincial government, including six years in the Office of the Premier, reinforced the belief that one-size fits all plans need to be adapted for local needs. Shane has been looking for an opportunity to bring his experience in communications and intergovernmental affairs to give back and is excited to contribute to the exceptional work done across so many areas by OneSky Community Resources.
