Harm reduction endeavours to reduce or minimize disease, injury and death while empowering people in safer practices. We aim to work together with people to reduce the harms they may be facing and to reduce stigma and barriers to services.

Services

The focus of theses services is to improve the wellbeing of people who are vulnerable to blood-borne infections, due to social and economic barriers, substance use, mental illness, sex work and/or isolation.

  • Individual and confidential support, advocacy and links to other services.
  • Community education and awareness.
  • Provision and distribution of harm reduction supplies.
  • Training in the Take Home Naloxone (THN) program. You could save a life!
  • Collection and proper disposal of used sharps and harm reduction supplies.
  • Peer support is an important aspect of this program. People with shared experiences can connect with each other to discuss topics that are important to them.
  • Support for transportation to medical appointments.
  • Peer training, employment and mentorship.
  • Connections with healthcare and community-based service providers to promote the latest science and good practices for prevention and treatment.
  • Community collaboration in developing strategies to best support community needs.
