Salary will be commensurate with experience. OneSky offers a competitive rate within a four-step wage grid system, commensurate with experience, education, and knowledge. Additionally, we offer comprehensive health benefits and a defined benefit pension plan (Municipal Pension Plan).

Nature of Position

The HR and Payroll Administrator plays a key role in ensuring that OneSky meets its bi-weekly payroll obligations. The position supports all HR processes from onboarding, employee record management, and training. The position ensures that all relevant administrative systems have the most updated records for all employees and manages other employee life-cycle processes from hiring, leave management and exits. The position plays a key role in the training of new supervisors and team leaders in the areas of administrative duties. As a key support to both Human Resources and Finance, the position maintains abreast of relevant legislative changes which might affect current organizational practices in payroll and human resources management.


  • Minimum three years of payroll experience, preferably in a non-profit, collective agreement or ‘shift’ working environment
  • Canadian Payroll Association certificate preferred – Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP)
  • CPHR designation or working towards an asset
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Minimum three years’ experience working with Payroll and HRIS systems
  • Knowledge of tax, wage, and employment legislation
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and a service-driven disposition
  • Outstanding organization and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
